It’s a pleasure to welcome Jennifer Kacey to the blog today! It’s her first time here, so let’s make her feel welcome I told Jennifer she can write about any topic of her choosing, so here it is! And if you’re brave enough, go ahead and answer Jennifer’s question in the comments section below Take it away, Jennifer …
A few days ago I had a close friend of mine ask me a very kinky question. The question surprised me because said friend is VERY vanilla. With me being pretty darn familiar with LOTS of flavors it took me a little while to formulate an answer that was both accurate and wouldn’t inspire a trip to the sink for some brain bleach.
Below is a variation of my answer with a bit more explanation added in since I’m not having to type on that uber tiny blackberry keyboard. And I’ve changed the name below to protect the innocent vanilla bystander of this blog post…
Friend – Do you think humiliation is a turn-on?
Me – The simple answer to your question is yes. But it’s much more than a simple yes or no and everyone is different. Are you talking about from the subs side of the equation or the Dom’s side? Either way I think humiliation can absolutely be a turn-on.
To the person giving the order to a slave or submissive, of course, that’s normally easy for people to see as sexy. What could be sexier than being able to command another person to do as you ask? And they not only do it, but they do it willingly and with enthusiasm. At least they should if they’re getting what they need in the relationship.
But it can also be a big turn-on for the one receiving the command. Once, I was told to get on my knees and put my nose in the corner until I was instructed otherwise.
I couldn’t get to that corner fast enough.
But what’s more, I never saw it as humiliation.
It was something the person topping me told me to do. In that moment I would have done anything He told me to.
What about being on your knees for someone, offering yourself to them without reservation?
Wearing a collar denoting your status as claimed by another person? It’s not so different than wearing a wedding ring but I know a few subs who’ve been verbally, and sometimes physically bullied by vanilla people that don’t understand, are scared, or are just complete douche bags with a dick too small to piss with.
In a D/s dynamic when you lay your hands in someone else’s palms and you verbally tell them you are handing them…all of you…it’s not just words. The power exchange has already begun. The shift is palpable between the people participating. It’s intense and very sexy.
Doing something for another person with no thought to your own pleasure, to me that’s the epitome of unselfish giving. What could be a bigger turn-on?
Oh and just to let you know, I’m still waiting for a response back. **grins**
So what do you guys think? Can humiliation be a turn-on?

Guys like Jared and Chris could never be interested in someone like her, or in the kind of sex she craves.
But Jared and Chris have read her diary, and sweet little Cyn is in for the shock of her life. The brothers not only own a members-only BDSM club, they want her. Need her. And now, with their unlimited funds and an entire establishment devoted to fulfilling her darkest pleasures, they’re going to claim Cyn for their own.

My Interview with Jennifer
Together in Cyn is your first published work. Is writing something you’ve always done, or did something spark the interest to create a world and characters whose story you wanted to tell?
I’d love to say I’ve always been a writer, I went to college and got my writing degree, and I’ve studied the craft for years… Yeah, that’s just not the case. I’ve always been a reader. I love losing myself in a good book. It’s like being hypnotized by your own noggin. Writing honestly evolved from a dream. Couldn’t get it out of my head so I wrote it down. Now I write to stay sane. Literally, I think I have twice as much naughty as most people do. Writing allows me to express my dark side in a very productive way.
Is there any part of the writing process that you find more tedious than enjoyable?
Umm…not really. I love outlining and getting all of my first thoughts down. LOVE writing the actual book, and I’m one of those freaks that actually enjoys editing. Cover requests are fun, blurbs are fun. I really like it all!
If you had to choose just one scene from Together in Cyn, which one would be your favorite and why?
The last one, HANDS DOWN! I actually wrote it in during edits. I invented BDSM equipment for that one, and Cyn is punished and loved and taken to new heights of OMG fantastic sex by the end of it. We should all be so lucky!
Who popped into your head first, Jared and Chris or Cyn?
Cyn from moment one. I was actually really worried about writing it in first person. Tried to write it in third and it just sucked. The story is literally all her. Her fears, her feelings, her perception of her men. It’s very personal for her and I hope that comes across in the story!
Some people start out slowly, you jumped right into writing a hot menage story. Why? Writing from experience?
**batseyelashesinnocently** I don’t see any point in half-assing anything. I’d actually watered the first version down that was accepted by EC, and thank heavens I have the most fantastic editor ever because we talked and she knew I had more to say. 20,000 words worth of sex to be exact. I like ménage A LOT. It’s what I read and what I write, plus I always pull certain aspects of my books from personal experience. We’ll just leave it at that…
What are you currently working on?
I’m editing Book 2 which is Haleigh’s Ink (Scott, Kyle and Haleigh), waiting for Book 3 to release which is A Very Ménage Christmas (Skye, Jackson and Nick), waiting for outline approval on Book 4, Jenna’s Consent (Nick, Jenna and Ian), then I’m working on a new Members Only Book tentatively titled Laila’s Lies (Laila and 3 smoking hot men). Waiting on outline approval on another one not in this series, and doing pre-edits on a different one, Final Surrender. This one will go back to my agent in around a week and she’ll start pitching it out. It is the first of a Romantic/Suspense trilogy. Oh and I’ve got two more short stories I’m working on as well. One for a Valentine’s Day project with a group of writing buddies called The Romance Troupe, and another which will start an erotic hypnosis series. I’m not going to count how many that is, because I’ll stay up too late trying to get stuff done. Oh and I work full time too, and have a 10 yr old…and sing in the church choir. Okay, I’m done now. **grins**
Which book is your top favorite Romantic Read?
Maya Banks – The Darkest Hour. So awesome!! It’s emotional and you cheer on the characters and side characters the entire book.
What is the last book you read?
The Elite by Keira Cass (The Selection, #2) I’m not much into young adult. Especially with my writing schedule and everything else going on, I really tend to read the genre’s that I write in. But I am a self-admitted series whore. I made the mistake of reading The Selection last year, so #2 rolled around and I HAD to read it. I really enjoyed it, too! Great author!!
What would you name the autobiography of your life?
Jennifer Kacey – A Little Bit Dark, A Whole Lotta Naughty!
If you could go back in time, what would you tell your 20 year old self if you met her?
Not a damn word! I wouldn’t change anything of my journey to this very day, and this very me. I love my life, love my family, have amazing friends, adore getting to do two jobs I love and being on the other side of a book’s pages, is amazing. My life has led me right here, right now and I’m not messing with the awesomesauce that got me here!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions
